“Frozen” Review
A hidden secret leads to a disaster, a love triangle twists the expectations of viewers, and an odd snowman steals hearts in the movie “Frozen.”
Kristen Bell stars as the voice of Anna, princess of Arendelle and Elsa’s younger sister. She is the reason her sister is locked away in her room all her life. It all started of when Anna was a young girl, where she would beg her older sister Elsa, played by Idina Menzel, to build a snowman. Elsa had a secret power where she can make ice, and snow, but the power is so strong that she hit Anna on her head with ice. Anna was dying. Once she was healed, they knew it was the best to delete all her memories of Elsa and keep Elsa locked away. The only time Elsa ever came out was coronation time to crown her queen, after her parents died in a shipwreck.
This movie has so many build ups, and the 3D effects are quite ravishing. It makes it look more intense and enchanting. The movie has made it big not only in North America but outside North America. It has made $349 million in the U.S. but has earned $545 million in foreign markets, according to Box Office Mojo.
One of the most famous characters in Frozen is Olaf played by Josh Gad. He is a friendly, adorable snowman created by Elsa when she was young, and when she created the big ice storm that could have vanished everyone there.
The moral of the movie is that true love doesn’t mean it has to come from a spouse – it can come from family or friends -anyone one shares comfort, love, and compassion with. Anna discovers that after she gets hit in her heart with ice and it could only be cured with a kiss from true love.
Frozen receives a 4.5 stars out of 5. It certainly meets Disney’s high standards. It has received the Golden Globe and Critics Choice awards for the best animated feature.
