JV Girls prepare for upcoming season
Our JV girls basketball season underway. This week they took on the Socorro Lady Bulldogs at home for their first scrimmage of the season and protected home court and took the “w.” Coach Manuel Piñon has great expectations for his team this season.
“The girls have showed a lot of growth since their previous years. I have a great feeling about this season. Also dropping down to a new division our competition has changed a little, but our girls are going to go out and compete no matter who the competition is.”
Sophomore Guard Bryanna Armendariz has good things to say about the team.
“Our team is on the right track and this weeks scrimmage was a big test for us. It showed what we need work on to help us better prepare for this season.”
Head varsity coach Cecilia Olan had good things to say after the girls scrimmage.
“Our girls played hard, and I saw lots of positive things. Of course with that, there are things we need to work on.”
The girls took on the Jefferson Silver Foxes in their second scrimmage of the year on Nov. 6 and took another win.
