2nd annual Faculty Showcase

Faculty members will show off their talents at the second annual Faculty Showcase at 7 p.m. tonight in the Tartan Theatre.
Dr. David Angerstein and his band will be performing. His band, the “Chuco Soul Project”, is a mix of regge, cumbias, rock, jazz and soul. They will be playing a couple of songs, including an uplifting reggae song called “Being Alive,” in which Angerstein plays an instrument called a melodica, and another song called “Hold On” which is a rock/ swing type of song, featuring the electric violin played by Angerstein.
“The lead singer and I have been playing together for quite some time and have been friends for quite a few years,” Angerstein said. She graduated from Bel Air in 2000, and a flute player in the band graduated from Bel Air in 1999. And it’s kind of cool to have them come back and play at Bel Air.”
Another teacher performing will be yearbook and journalism teacher Carol. Viescas with choir/piano teacher Patty Arambula on piano.
“I will be singing a couple of songs that I’ve done in past musicals.”. Viescas will be singing “I’m in Love with a Wonderful Guy from “South Pacific” which she performed “in the late 1970’s, before anybody was born,” she said. The other one is called “Send in the Clowns” from “A Little Night Music.”
