‘Mr. Right’ review
A superior and very jocular film,“Mr. Right”, this romantic comedy is filled with a bunch of action, and it isn’t quite like any other romance film. This film depicts the love story between a hitman and a woman who has recently become single after being cheated on.
This film has astonishing actors who seem to fit their roles rather well. Sam Rockwell who plays “Francis” or “Mr. Right” delivers an amazing performance by supporting his rather serious character and making the “goofy” type work at the same time. Anna Kendrick as the female lead plays her usual droll and pure self. Finally, supporting roles such as James Ransone, Tim Roth, Michael Eklund, RZA and many more make this film even more hysterical as they play their characters. This cast was an impeccable fit for this film.
As mentioned, Francis (Rockwell) meets Martha (Kendrick) after she goes through a very painful breakup. As their relationship progresses Martha finds out that her “Mr. Perfect” has a very fatal flaw; he’s a hitman on the people who hire him. Throughout the film their love is tested when they have to fight through Francis’ past together.
One of the best things about this film is that although many can’t relate to dating a hitman, many can relate to falling in love with someone’s flaws. This film is great for the reason that not many romance films seem to focus on the flaws of a couple. It’s hard to not laugh and watch in awe as this “killer couple” battles through many obstacles together.
Finally, this film has a little of everything. They supply laughter, moments of awe, major action, and just the right amount of suspense to make this an amazing film. Since the film was released April 8 this delightful romantic comedy is still available at the Cinemark theaters.
