‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ Review
The sequel to “Kingsman: The Secret Service” came out Sept. 22. “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” is a movie that will make any lover of the first movie laugh out loud. This movie has action filled crazy scenes while still maintaining its wit and comedy. “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” is rated R and lasts 2 hours and 21 minutes.
“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” is an action/adventure film directed by Matthew Vaughn. A lot was expected from director Matthew Vaughn, as he has directed great movies such as “X-Men: Days of The Future Past” and “Fantastic Four.” Even though the bar was set high from the previous movie, Vaughn did a fantastic job with this film. The movie stars Colin Firth as Harry Hart, Julianne Moore as Poppy Adams, Taron Egerton as Gary “Eggsy” Unwin, Mark Strong as Merlin, Halle Berry as Ginger, Elton John as himself, Channing Tatum as Tequila and Jeff Bridges as Champagne “Champ.” The movie features many A-list actors. These actors gave a very good performance and brought their characters to life.
The story starts off with the members of Kingsman having their headquarters completely destroyed and the whole world held hostage. This very unfortunate set of events cause Eggsy to work without a set team. Some of the members of Kingsman find out about a spy organization called the Statesman. The Statesman is from the United States. The Statesman operate under the cover of a very successful alcohol corporation that is based in Kentucky. These two groups decide to join forces and fight together to stop their common enemy, Poppy. Poppy is a very charismatic villain whose motivations for wanting to destroy the world are questionable. Many critics were questioning whether the director of the film was in his right mind while he was directing the scenes and writing the script. There are many scenes that he wanted to film but the actors refused because of how bizarre what they had to do was. The movie was filled with crazy CGI.
One of the most memorable scenes from the film is the final shootout. Eggsy and Harry attack Poppy’s place and everything goes insane. Once one bullet goes off, everything around them starts to quickly unravel. Eggsy and Harry have an umbrella as a shield and a gun for protection.
Cool moves, special effects, and the good kind of ridiculous made this scene the most memorable for many viewers. Elton John’s appearance can’t be forgotten either. John was dressed in a flashy costume that gave the right hint of comedy to the scene. This scene, of course, ends with the trio of Harry, Eggsy, and Elton being triumphant against their enemy, Poppy.
“Kingsman: The Golden Circle” is currently playing in theaters. Anyone can watch “The Golden Circle” at local theaters like Premiere cinema at Bassett, Cinemark Cielo Vista, or Cinemark 20 and XD. “Kingsman: The Golden Circle” received an average rating of 7.3/10. My personal rating for the movie is an 8/10 because the comedy and action were spot on. This movie is well worth watching.
