Faculty show off their talents
See your fellow faculty members in a different light. Enjoy a plethora of talent. Mark your calendars now for the Faculty Showcase at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 28 in the Tartan Theatre.
What will you see?
• Theatre teacher Maria Hart in a clown skit called The Wallflower, where she plays a nerd at a dance who becomes enchanted and her body starts moving so that she doesn’t have control of it.
2. Student Activities Director Sylvia Palmer will perform Flamenco dances to “Seguerillas,” and “Faruca.”
• Speech and Debate co-director and cheer coach Ashley Oropeza will do a hip-hop/jazz dance.
• SpEd teacher JoAnn Gonzalez will sing Mariachi songs in full costume.
• Band guys Manny Talamantes, James Cordova, Rudy Vilardell (Ranchland), Chente Lopez, Chris Martin and Jose Reyes, with guitar teacher Phillip Pivovar will perform in a “Ska-tish” band.
• Dangerstein, aka Dr. David Angerstein will perform on his electric violin and sing along with fellow members of Chuco Soul Project.
• Orchestra teacher Julia Gutierrez will perform “Vocalise” by Rachmaninoff on violin accompanied by Patty Arambula.
• Journalism teacher Carol Viescas will sing “Paciencia y Fe” from the musical “In the Heights” accompanied by Patty Arambula.
• Choir director/Piano teacher Patty Arambula will play “Prelude” by J.S. Bach.
• Speech and Debate co-director Isbeth Rodriguez will dance the “Highland Fling” accompanied by part-time instructor and grad Julia Gomez.
